(2008-0434) From Higger Tor towards the Great Ridge
welcome to pictures & light
landscape and natural history photography by Peter Truman
This website is a showcase for my photographic work, images of inner and outer landscapes and projects to paint a portrait of a particular area, largely of the Derbyshire Peak District.
A long term project, included as Along Gritstone Crags, has been to walk and record the length of the Peak District edges, a series of exposed gritstone edges that traverse the area from Howden Edge in the north west of the region, along Derwent Edge, Stanage Edge, visiting Higger Tor, Burbage and the beautiful Padley Gorge, then continuing along Froggatt Edge and Curbar Edge to arrive at Chatsworth and beyond in the east of the region. This describes my journey along the way, something I continue to explore and enjoy.

Several galleries provide a selection of further Derbyshire Peak District and other photographs.
Also included are a number of technical articles and brief reviews of equipment and books in the hope they may be of some assistance to others. I make no claims to being anything other than enthusiastic and passionate about my subject matter; this website is a conduit to share that with anyone who is interested.
My garden and plant photography and stock image library now has it's own website, PeterTrumanPhoto.com
